The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is where you can begin to take part in dives that interest you and increase your depth range as a diver.
On the course, you will do 5 introductory dives from PADI specialty dives of your choice (permitted by local diving conditions).
At the end of the course, you will be qualified to dive with a buddy to a depth of 30m. Your first advanced scuba diving certification card.

This is perfect for skill training as well as a chance to take in the wonders of the thousands of different marine species on the coral reefs and exciting local dive sites such as the popular Alpha Fungao wreck which sits at 30m.
The course is broken down into two segments, knowledge development, and open water dives.
Duration
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course can be completed over 3 days or 2 if you are pushed for time. It will included 5 adventure training dives and a free fun dive if you opt for the 3 day option.
Who is it For?
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is open to anyone from age 12 who has completed the PADI Open Water Diver course or equivalent rating from another organisation.
Course Outline
You will complete the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course eLearning, with the five chapters of the dives in which you wish to take part. You will also complete the Thinking Like a Diver section. The dives you select will be Deep diver, navigation and a choice of three more The ocean adventure dives will completed on the wreck and the coral reefs of Diani.

Completing the knowledge development section, starts before you begin the course and requires you to complete the PADI Online learning for the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course. This can be accessed via the PADI Library app or via the PADI website.
PADI’s cutting-edge digital learning leads the world in diver education and enables you to complete the knowledge development in the comfort of your own home. You can take notes in the app to discuss with your PADI Instructor any concepts which you don’t understand. Assessment of learning is done via quick reviews at the end of every section in the online learning, which you must get correct to proceed so it’s sure you understand.
Ocean Dives
We will go by boat out to local dive sites which are suitable for conducting the training.
Each dive is an introductory dive to a specialty of your choice, for which you will have completed the relevant section in the online learning. This must include a deep dive below 18m and a navigation dive but can also include a dive on a wreck, a peak performance buoyancy dive, an underwater photography dive, or many more. You will complete 3 dives on one day and two on the other. If you prefer you can do it over three days with two dives per day (the last dive can be a free fun dive where you can put your new skills to use.
You will have five dives in total after which you are a fully certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, assuming that you have met all of the other course performance requirements.
Where Will I Dive?
Depending on which option you have selected your PADI Discover Scuba Diving try dive experience will take place either on a single dive inside the Diani lagoon. Or for those who want to experience the main coral reefs of Diani then there is the 2 dive option which is done outside of the lagoon on the selected dive sites of the day.
