Enrolling on a PADI Specialty Diver course at Ocean Tribe gives you the chance to pursue your specific interests in scuba diving and get more involved with specific local dive sites.

Do you want to be able to visit and explore the spectacular local wrecks in Kenya? Well the wreck diver course might be for you. These are just a couple of examples and there is a massive array of options open to you.

During the PADI Specialty Diver courses you will learn theory and dive skills specific to that specialty, making you a more skilled scuba diver and helping you work towards the coveted PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.

PADI’s Newest Specialty Diver Course. The PADI Adaptive Support Specialty Diver course teaches you helpful procedures for diving with divers with particular physical or mental disabilities or challenges. Diving has proven to be an exceptional rehab and lifestyle enhancer for people with these conditions and the Adaptive Support divers course helps you be a part of the logistical and assisting solution to enabling this to happen. A really interesting specialty to take and taught by Mark Slingo one of PADI’s leading adaptive diving instructors.

The PADI Deep Diver specialty diver course extends your depth limits and knowledge. To fully be able to dive to the depths limits in recreational diving and learning the best procedures for diving a little deeper, you can take the PADI Deep Specialty Diver course. During the program you will do 4 dives below 18m up to a maximum depth of 40m (which will be your limit you are qualified to following successful graduation). This is along with PADI Enriched Air Diver is a good introduction for those who are thinking about going down the PADI technical diving path.

We all go underwater to see the magic of the underwater world. Wouldn’t you like to be able to capture it and show off your dive experiences. Anyone can use a camera, but the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer specialty diver course teaches you the proper procedures for photo composition, accounting for colour absorption, protecting your camera, using lights and strobes and touching up your photos with after effects. An awesome course in getting you started with your underwater camera.

Want to have safer margins and a longer allowable bottom time. Then the PADI Enriched Air Specialty Diver course is for you. The course teaches you about the special procedures for diving with Enriched Air Nitrox up to a an oxygen percentage of 40%. As well as teaching you dive calculations and maximum operating depths, it also teaches you about diving a computer with nitrox and special considerations for equipment with nitrox.

Being able to find your way underwater is an important part of being a skilled diver. The PADI Underwater Navigator specialty diver course builds on the initial navigation work you have done in the Open Water course and enables you to plot, plan and execute dives using both compass and natural navigation. An invaluable tool as you become a better and better diver.

Wrecks are awesome dive sites both for the marine life and historical aspect. The PADI Wreck Diver specialty course teaches you the proper procedures for diving on wrecks, including penetration dives if you wish to explore the inside of a wreck within the light zone. The course consists of 4 wreck dives over 2 days and introduces you to equipment for wreck diving.

At Ocean Tribe we conduct the PADI Wreck Diver Specialty Diver course on the locally sunk MV Funguo wreck and can also arrange diving on the MV Dania wreck in Mombasa and MV Fish Eagle wreck in Kilifi

The underwater world changes as day creatures retire & nocturnal organisms emerge.Certified scuba divers can explore the beautiful coral reefs of Diani with Ocean Tribe, Kenya’s only PADI 5 Star IDC Center. You will do 1 night dive on our local dive sites which range from 10m-25m and include walls, pinnacles and gently sloping reefs with a massive array of corals and marine life. Dives are 20 minutes to 50 minutes and are all led by an Ocean Tribe PADI professional unless requested the dive as an individual buddy team. For divers holding Advanced certifications there is also the option to dive the Alpha Funguo wreck which sits at 30m off Diani. Your program will include complimentary transfers from with Diani and Galu and the use of tanks, weights, and weight belts. Also included is equipment rental (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, fins, mask & snorkel), your own personal reusable Ocean Tribe water bottle, and Ocean Tribe t shirt. Excluded are dive computer rental, extra snack, other beverages besides water and tips to the dive staff and crew.  If you’ve wondered what happens underwater after the sun goes down, lets go for a night dive. PADI eLearning Can Save You Course Time

PADI eLearning allows a lot of course flexibility. To save you time to enjoy further your Kenya beach holiday in Diani, you can complete the PADI Online eLearning for certain PADI Specialty Diver courses  before you even come to Diani. This then will require the first day in the pool followed by the ocean, cutting the course time.
