Ocean Tribe normally schedules an SSI Instructor Training Course every couple of months. Additional courses may also be arranged when candidate demand and trainer availability allow.
Each calendar block brings together the Assistant Instructor program, full Instructor Training Course, separate Instructor Evaluation and opportunities for further instructor development.
Candidates who want to shorten their time in Kenya may also be able to complete selected academic preparation, workshops and presentations online before arriving for practical training.

Assistant Instructor
The first section of instructor development, focusing on academic and confined-water teaching.

ITC calendar FAQs
Do I complete Assistant Instructor separately?
The Assistant Instructor program forms the first part of the full ITC. It can be completed as a standalone qualification or as part of the complete instructor course.
Is the Instructor Evaluation included in the ITC dates?
The Instructor Evaluation is a separate SSI evaluation conducted after the training course, so its dates are shown separately.
Where is the October 2026 course held?
The October 2026 course block is scheduled at Ocean Tribe’s sister dive centre in Siargao, Philippines.
