How to Qualify

  • Enroll in a Specialty Instructor Seminar for each course you want to teach.
  • Start immediately after completing your Open Water Instructor program to maximize opportunities.
  • Co-teach with experienced SSI Specialty Instructors through an internship for hands-on experience, boosting your confidence and skills.

Advance to Advanced Open Water Instructor

  • To qualify, you must:
  • Earn four Specialty Instructor certifications (including Diver Stress & Rescue).
  • Issue at least 15 specialty and/or Advanced Adventurer certifications.
