Yes. Diani Beach is widely regarded as one of the best scuba diving destinations in Kenya. The area offers warm tropical water throughout the year, colourful coral reefs, healthy marine ecosystems and dive sites suitable for both beginners and experienced divers. Depending on the season, you may encounter turtles, rays, reef sharks, moray eels, octopus, nudibranchs and a huge variety of tropical reef fish.
Diving is available throughout the year, but summer offers excellent conditions with warm water, comfortable air temperatures and fantastic visibility on many dive sites. Sea conditions are often calm, making it an ideal time for both new and experienced divers.
Absolutely. Diani Beach is an excellent location for learning to scuba dive. Calm conditions, warm water and a variety of sheltered dive sites make it an ideal environment for beginner training. At Ocean Tribe, our experienced instructors provide personalised tuition in small groups, helping every student progress at their own pace.
The Open Water Diver Course typically takes three days to complete. During your course you’ll learn the theory of scuba diving, develop essential skills in confined water and complete four training dives in the ocean. This summer, Ocean Tribe also includes two complimentary guided dives after certification, giving you even more time to explore the reefs of Diani Beach.
No previous diving experience is required. If you’re comfortable in the water and meet the minimum medical and age requirements, you can enrol on an Open Water Diver Course and begin your underwater adventure.
