If you have ever tried to buy proper dive gear in East Africa, you know the problem. Choice is limited, stock is unpredictable, and getting honest advice from someone who actually dives is harder still. At Ocean Tribe, we hear the same question from students, interns and visiting divers again and again: “Where can I buy good gear in Kenya?”
Now there is an answer. We are delighted to launch the Ocean Tribe Online Dive Shop, a new online source of dive gear Kenya divers can trust, built by divers, for divers.
Why we launched a dive gear Kenya shop
As an SSI Diamond Instructor Training Centre, we see what works and what fails in the water every single day. We watch students struggle with masks that leak, fins that cramp and regulators that do not suit the way they dive. We also know how much confidence the right equipment gives, whether you are on your first Open Water Diver course or working towards your SSI Instructor certification.
We wanted one place for dive gear in Kenya where you can browse quality brands from home, order online and get real advice from the same team that teaches you to dive.
Brands you can trust
The shop stocks equipment from some of the most respected names in diving:
- Apeks: British-engineered regulators, including the XL4 Ocea, EVX200 and MTX-RC, available individually or as complete sets.
- Shearwater: dive computers from the Peregrine and Teric to the Perdix 2 Ti, plus transmitters, chargers and accessories.
- Cressi: BCs such as the Aquawing Plus, masks like the Z2 and Calibro, Reaction EBS fins, dive computers, lights, marker buoys and bags.
- XDEEP: equipment for divers who want a more technical setup.
- Fourth Element: wetsuits, rashguards, boots, gloves and freediving suits.
- Mares: not yet listed online, but message us and we will tell you what is available.
What you will find in the shop
The Ocean Tribe Online Dive Shop covers everything from a first snorkel set to a complete scuba kit:
- Dive computers and instruments
- Regulators

You will also find a Buy Photos section, so you can take home images from your dives with us.
Advice from divers, not just a checkout page
Buying dive equipment online can be daunting. Which BC suits your body and the way you dive? Is a watch-style computer right for you, or do you want a console-style display? How thick should your wetsuit be for Diani’s warm water?
This is where an online dive gear Kenya store run by a dive centre makes the difference. Message us on WhatsApp or email shop@oceantribe.co and one of our instructors will help you choose. If you are about to start a course with us, we can talk you through what to buy now and what to rent until you know what suits you.
Ordering and delivery
Ordering is simple. Browse the shop, add your items to the cart and check out online. Please allow 14 days for delivery from the date of your order. Our returns information is on the Returns & Refunds page.
Prefer to talk to someone first? You can also visit us at The 41 Beach Club, Diani Beach Road, Diani.
Start with these favourites
Not sure where to begin? These are good places to start:
- A first dive computer: the Shearwater Peregrine is a clear, easy-to-use choice for recreational divers.
- A BC you will enjoy travelling with: the Cressi Aquawing Plus.
- A regulator for years of diving: the Apeks XL4 Ocea.
- A mask that fits: the Cressi Z2.
- Fins with a comfortable fit: the Cressi Reaction EBS.
A good mask and a comfortable pair of fins are usually the best first purchase for any new diver, and they make every dive more enjoyable.
